I created this character to represent a typical member of my target audience. I made it using this website: http://www.weeworld.com/home/.
'Horrorfan' is an average young man, aged between 18 and 25. He isn't entertained by overly gory horror films with simplistic storylines; that are filled with clichés and cheap scares. Instead, he is attracted to more original movies which border on the dark, disturbing aspect of the genre. These movies are less predictable and leave a lasting impression on the viewer.
My target audience is into reading and writing. These hobbies stimulate the mind and help the member get lost in a fictional setting. A person in this target group once told me that films were like 'an escape' to him - as reality is boring. Horror fans generally like dark, cool clothing and accessories. A lot of them fit into the 'emo/goth' category and therefore care about their appearance. The character I made is wearing a black outfit, displaying a grey skull, underneath a stylish necklace. His baggy trousers have a belt buckle and his hair is slightly overgrown.
'Horrorfan' has some creepy merchandise (like the hanging skeleton and the gothic style table), but his hobbies and behaviour is like any teenage boy - as demonstrated by his play station, computer and drum set. He likes interesting and exciting things. This is why he socialises with friends (e.g. partying) and indulges in less mainstream hobbies (e.g. indie music).
Overall, he is not mainstream and is not satisfied with unoriginal, shallow products. He thinks that those who like that sort of thing are sheep who are too unintelligent or lazy to appreciate subcultural things.
